According to Nick.com, tune in Friday, June 30th for the World Network Television Premiere of "Rugrats In Paris: The Movie". Like Hey Arnold's premiere (Movie) as well as The Wild Thornberrys' Movie, this one may be a bit, erm... unadvertised, so I thought I'd let you all know, if you didn't already Clin d'oeil. If you miss it, you can catch it on any (or all) of the following dates:

Friday, June 30th @ 8:00pm
Saturday, July 1st @ 8:00pm
Sunday, July 2nd @ 4:00pm

If you want to plan ahead and timer-record the movie, each airing will be approximately 1 1/2 hours long.

Hope I helped, lol.

Hardly a "World Premiere". I think Nick UK showed it a few years ago.

umm.. sorry

? Confused

but anyway, I don't think there will be any deleted scenes, since there weren't any on the DVD or anything, and they didn't show any w/ The Rugrats Movie, Hey Arnold the Movie, or the Wild Thornberrys Movie. Triste

There were a deleted scene when they aired the Rugrats movie few years ago (check my site) while this scene wasn't on the DVD... so, why wouldn't they add one for the Rugrats in Paris ? Sourire

First of all, the first known "World TV Premiere" was July 6, 2003, when it aired on Canada's YTV.

CBS aired the movie on a Thanksgiving afternoon that year, but it was the only time it was seen on CBS. It was also given a 90-minute timeslot, meaning that some scenes were actually cut. Given the abyssymal ratings the Rugrats gave CBS during the 2002-2003 season (which also included "The Rugrats Movie" (with extra scenes) plus the "Chanukah" and "Santa Experience" specials), no wonder CBS did nothing special for "Rugrats In Paris".

And for Nick's "World Network Television Premiere" of "Rugrats In Paris": first, Nick didn't do its research on who showed it first (they don't even get the US Network premiere). Second, at 90 minutes and commercials at generally 8 minutes per half-hour, Nick's telecast will also be edited for length, just like it was on CBS.

I guess, but aren't commercials per half hour usually 3 minutes? 6-9 commercials or something? Just a random Q.

If this was the 1960s, that would be the case, but since then, stations were allowed to show more ads, and when restrictions were lifted wholesale in the 1980s, statiosn and networks could show as much commercials as they want, unless restricted by the syndicator or network during their programming.

Ads on Nick, including promos and other filler (like credits), generally run 8 minutes per half-hour, with only 22 minutes of actual program time. Where Nicktoons are concerned, this is generally divided into two 11-minute episodes per program.

Back to "Rugrats In Paris" -- the runtime of that film, uncut, is 78 minutes. However, it only got a 90-minute timeslot on Nick, which means only 66 minutes of actual program time. As a result, up to 12 minutes of the film would had to be cut, to accomodate the commercials.

They do it all the time here in the states, and they've been doing so since television started in the 1940s.
