Of course, many Swim fans think differently -- see this thread from Radio-Info.

A post on Cable TV Talk by the administrator stated that it WAS infact a hoax for AS to be airing SBTB, just to make the people are are all angry about CN airing live-action stuff upset. He said he got an email from one of the reps stating this. Strangley, he removed that post yesterday.

Well, they're still advertising it. I must say, that the promo was a little strange and made me wonder if it was a joke or not. Adult Swim is known to go above and beyond the realm of reason when pranking their viewers...and for that, I love them.

But when you think about it, it makes sense. Most of SBTB's fans are adults who watched during its initial airing, so there's gonna be a lot of people watching for nostalgic reasons. But yeah, there's a possibility that it's all a joke.

They posted this on the website:

Quote:
Fans Embrace Saved By the Bell
04/13/2006

AdultSwim.com fans have been quick to share their feelings over the two-week trial run of Saved By the Bell on Adult Swim. Message Board users have come together in an uncharacteristic display of good tidings and cheer to send out helpful messages and memos to the Williams Street staff.

"...this has to be a joke..if it isnt.... someone at Williams Street Must DIE!" - lazerhaze

"This SBTB **bleep** had better be a joke! Or there'll be a jihad for the next two weeks!" - Real AirCooledMan

"How can you taint the best few hours of my life with such crap! By crap I mean Saved by the bell, weak move adultswim." - Kanluga

"If it's a joke it's nowhere near funny." - Zahaaticus

"Yes!!!! We're one step closer to getting Murder She Wrote on [as]. Excellent move." - Hong Kong Phooey

"...what is with putting Saved by the Bell on the network? c'mon, did you guys get taken over by a bunch of 40 year old child molestors?" - Aqua Link

"So this is what TBS gives back to AS for AS giving them Family Guy, Oblongs, Mission Hill and Futurama." - thephantom22

"...if I wanted to watch washed up shows that were cancelled years ago, I'd just turn on G4." - SpamMePlease

To join in the love fest, head to the message boards now.

My personal favorite would be the last one. Tire la langue

The promos are funny! Usually, at the end of a regular old promo, they have a character of a show say something like "wouldn't miss it for the world" or "can't wait", but the end fo one of the SBTB promos has a girl going "Anybody seen my sneakers? I can't find them anywhere!". I was like "what the..." when I first saw it. And the quote "You were never this cool...no one was!". Lol

Haha, that's exactly what I was talking about. The ending of that promo was so peculiar. It just made me think it was a big joke.

Well there we have it. It's a joke indeed. lol

Crazy Adult Swim.

EDIT: Or maybe it's not. I see it on my on-screen guide which means it's probably in TV Guide as well. Gah, KT is so confused. Guess we'll find out tonight.

It wasn't. It aired. First time I ever watched it...gotta love 80s teen shows. So magical, so corny. It's like a breath of fresh air from all of the teen shows we have today *sigh*.

It aired with some demonic bumpers! " Surpris " can't even describe my reaction to seeing them. They were flat out CREEPY (but funny, non the less).

And, it looks like AS may have trademarked the [crappy 1980's live action show network] slogan, since I think a website with that name is up now (too lazy to get a link). Aired the logo during the show, also.

So, that was a big ha ha from Adult Swim...if only the situation with Cartoon Network was the same. Triste

First time, eh? I thought everyone and their cousins had seen SBTB before. Tire la langue

I can't believe they're actually airing it. Those bumpers are crazy. But hey, I've always liked SBTB, no reason not to watch. Sourire

Nope. Too young to catch the original run, and...I guess I never thought about catching it in reruns.

I was watching it last night, and I can see where you got your old username from, lol.

Saved By the Bell has been on loads of channels in the UK. I remember it from its early runs on TCC (probably about 1996)
Channel 4, The Childrens' Channel, Nickelodeon. Maybe Trouble too as it was on the "Trouble" block on TCC.
