As you probably know, The-N will be getting its own network on December 31st at 6 AM. This 24/7 The-N will be replacing Nick GAS.

What are your thoughts and hopes on this change?

I'm a bit sad that there will no longer be Legends of the Hidden Temple reruns, but I'm also really excited. This is probably the closest thing we'll ever get to a Classic Nick station. Let's just hope that shows like Alex Mack, Pete & Pete, etc. are played.

Also, there's a rumor going around that The-N is trying to get So Weird. At first I thought this was just a ridiculous rumor, since Disney owns So Weird, but if you Google search The-N and So Weird, you'll find a lot of people discussing it.

Aw I was really getting into Nick Gas. Too bad maybe the N won't be all that bad. I hope some of the classic nick shows will be on that I used to watch when I was really little.

Has anyone else checked it out yet? I really like it! It's just a shame that The Amanda Show is only on at 8 AM.

How have you gotten to see it yet? huh I have Dish Network which has both Noggin/The-N and Nick GAS, and for whatever reason both channels are running like normal, and it's already January 1st.

^^Edit: OK, never mind that question! I found the answer! Sourire

Technical difficulties with relaunch

For satellite viewers however, the conversion from Nick GAS to The N was not seamless. Subscribers to Dish Network are currently still receiving Nick GAS's regular programming (which continues on an automated loop), along with The N taking over Noggin's Channel 169 after 5:00AM Eastern/4:00PM Central, the normal switching time. DirecTV also suffered from the glitch until 7:25AM Eastern/6:25AM Central time. Most digital cable viewers saw no problems with the transfer from Nick GAS to The N, beyond some electronic program guide listings still listing NIck GAS's programming schedule or all programs under the title Sign off, precluding the setup of DVR recordings for The N's programming.

So, does anyone have the new channel yet? I'm just curious, because Dish is still airing Noggin/The N and Nick GAS as usual. Sourire

Also, did anyone get to see what the "big surprise" was that they kept announcing? They said it was going to be revealed today at Noon. What was it?

I KNOW! I was so angry about that too!

But The-N is definitely going to be playing iCarly and That '70s Show, and they won't be on immediately, so maybe All That's taking its time too?

I have the new channel. It switched just fine for me at 6AM on Dec. 31, since I have Comcast. I mostly just watch Kenan & Kel and Radio Free Roscoe.

I completely forgot about the change until someone was flipping channels that evening. I watched a bit of Caitlins way earlier today brings back so many memories. Sourire

Dish Network is still airing Nick GAS on channel 177 and timesharing Noggin/The N on channel 169, and now it's raising a few eyebrows among Dish subscribers, myself included. They claim they had "problems" during the switch, that's why everything's back to the way it was. However, DirecTV handled the switch just fine, and now Noggin and The N both have their own channels on DirecTV. So I don't understand why Dish is having all these "problems", when DirecTV didn't have them. Yes, I know they're two different companies, but both are DBS systems and shouldn't they both have pretty much the same process of conversion? Something's not right here. huh This has something to do with Dish and Viacom, and don't say it doesn't because either one could pull either of the stations off the air without a second thought.

Well, from what I've read on various websites, it doesn't look like us Dish people will be getting the "new" channel until sometime later this month. Hum...
