Yep, you knew that, you probably just forgot. Must be that old age is creeping up on you. Clin d'oeil

Kevin Harvick is the 2006 Busch Series Champion. He is the earlies ever to clinch the championship. 775 point lead with still four races left!

BTW Mark, the RCR illegal engines has been proven false according to I believe Jayski.

Looks like the championship is down to Burton, Kenseth, or Harvick as Martin and Hamlin both crashed tonight. Not a fan of any of them. Fou

What has innocent Jeff Burton done to you to not like him? BLAH! I'm all for Jeff Burton...he's not a well known driver and therefore he's awesome...and I know everyone is inclided to their own opinions...so I'm just teasing you.

...As for the Harvick Busch Championship...here's my rant.

NEXTEL needs a chase? No...Busch needs to be limited. I don't agree with NEXTEL drivers who are winning races and in the top 10 of the Chase to be driving with Busch drivers. Busch drivers are trying to improve to make it to NEXTEL and the NEXTEL drivers are winning just about every race...look at the top 10 of Busch! All of those drive either full time or part time NEXTEL. Yes, I like most of the Busch drivers, but there needs to be a limit. Harvick ran off with this Championship...left no room for anyone else. If NEXTEL has to be limited...so does Busch. Give the little guys a chance.

^ If it wasn't for the Buschwhackers, Mark McFarland and Burney Lamar would still be driving the 88 and the 77 with at least one win for each of them.

I totally agree with you here. In what other sport do the "top level" players/drivers compete against the lower leagues? The answer, none. It hurts the development of younger drivers when half of the guys racing are Cup drivers. There should be a cap on the # of racers a regular Cup guy can race.

Championship is back up for grabs as Burton's luck goes sour as he blows an engine and is in 42nd place. Hamlin currently leading the race.

4. +2 Dale Earnhardt Jr. -84

No, I actually think Kyle Busch will win Tire la langue Tire la langue

Ugh! What a disappointing ending for so many good cars! Clint Bowyer, Casey Mears, Dale Jarrett, Mark Martin, Mike Bliss, Martin Truex Jr. And for drivers like Bowyer and Truex, these guys just cannot get a break! Tony Stewart has the race for 11th all but wrapped up, Clint Bowyer actually moves up a bit in points (compared to some of the drivers in front of him) and is now tied with Ryan Newman for 17th.

Clint won the truck race... although pretty unorthadoxally(sp?)(ctxt?) with the whole Mike Skinner issue. But awesome job, man! Hopefully we can finally carry some momentum into the rest of the weekend. But I'm just gonna maintain a positive attitude and look forward to a good run tomorrow in the Busch series.

Race to the chase getting down to basically 4 drivers now. Burton goes out early again and his title hopes are done. Jr, Johnson, Kenseth and Hamlin are the only guys left with a legit shot to win it all.

Standing with 2 races left:
1. +1 Jimmie Johnson Leader
2. -1 Matt Kenseth -17
3. +1 Dale Earnhardt Jr. -78
4. -1 Denny Hamlin -80
5. +1 Kevin Harvick -105
6. +1 Jeff Gordon -157
7. -2 Jeff Burton -184
8. +2 Kyle Busch -233
9. -1 Mark Martin -253
10. -1 Kasey Kahne -290

Hey Clint FINALLY got a good finish. This was probebly his smoothest race with a good finish since Richmond where he finished twelfth.

I dunno about you Mark, but I think Kevin Harvick has a good shot at winning as well.

He is a long shot to win. Kenseth and Johnson would both have to falter badly AND Harvick would need tops 5's on both races and have to outgain Jr and Hamlin. That'd be highly unlikely.
