The Busch race last night was entertaining. Anyone else see it? Who do you think will win tonight and who do you want to win? I think Greg Biffle or JJ Yeley will win tonight but I really want Clint Bowyer to win he won this race in the Busch series last year.

This is my 100th post

Harvick takes the win in the Cup race too. Newman stunk again and it really behind the 8-ball now to make the chase.

Yeah, and my college doesn't get FX or I would be skipping all my classes to watch it. It's my favorite race, and I had a shitty weekend and I wanted to watch this race more than anything in the world. Now I can't watch it, so I'm boycotting NASCAR for 3 weeks. No joke. My parents are recording Talladega for me, and the Richmond race next weekend, I will not be looking at this thread for three weeks, unti I get home. Then I will watch those two races Saturday night and then the race on Sunday. That's my plan. I'm cutting myself off from the world because Talladega is my favorite race and I plan on watching it...ON MY OWN. I'm not waiting until November, my sophomore year of college to watch it again...so yes, a little extreme, maybe, but I REALLY don't care...

Jimmie Johnson won.

There are a few big names that are in BIG trouble already for making the chase. Namely, Newman and Biffle.

* Denotes Rookie

Rookie of the year goes to the rookie with the most points at the end of the season? If so, my favourite NASCAR driver is winning the rookie award by 2 points!

Rookie of the Year winner is forumlated from the top so many races each year not by points. They end up not counting the top and bottom few finishes of the year for each rookie driver and calculating it from the rest of the finishes. It's pretty odd.

Clint Bowyer led the last two Busch races, but didn't win any this season. i have never seen any of my four favourites win a race yet; Clint Bowyer, Jamie McMurray, Robby Gordon, and JJ Yeley. I hope I see them all win. After last week I decided I hate Kenseth (already didn't like him...he was my favourite back in 2001 although I wouldn't know because I didn't watch Nascar), and I'm a little angry with Edwards, but it happens...

NASCAR ain't as good as it used to be. Back in the day when it was Jarrett and Gordon going after it, Terry Labonte and Dale Earnhardt. Those were the days. Now, we've got all these young guys who haven't had to prove themselves in the BGN Series driving in Cup cars. Jimmie Johnson was a terrible Busch driver, as was Denny Hamlin, JJ Yeley, Casey Mears, and Jamie McMurray. The car controls the driver way too much now.

I would agree with a lot of that. It seems that so much anymore it's more the team/car you drive for than the driver. Like you said, guys who couldn't win anything in the Busch series are suddenly studs once they go to a good team in the Cup series.

Jamie McMurray for all the hype he has received has NEVER lived up to his billing. Casey Mears has never won a single race in ANY nascar series yet is the most sought after "free agent" driver.

The young kids aere getting A+ rides nowadays without proving anything. It never used to be that way. Sadly sponsors are part of the reason why. Sponsors want young and marketable guys and put less emphasis on talent.
