The train is way more expensive. I actually quite like aeroplanes. The longest flight I've been on is from Dublin to JFK.

I quite enjoy airplanes too.... I fly on an airplane twice a year every year to go to where I was born! Costa Rica! Très content every summer, and then go back at the end of summer

Aw, I was missed - thanks! Très content I've been okay - just majorly distracted by work and other goings-on. Sourire

I definately notice and definately miss some people when they don't appear for a while, particularly if they're regulars Sourire. A lot of times it makes me wonder why. In fact I actually notice when most people don't appear for a while. Slightly off topic, On one board I use to frequent (a totally different board related to one particular program I used to watch), there was one very frequent member with the highest post count who posted very often. They dissappeared for a few weeks, appeared a couple of times not posting hardly then mysteriously vanished. I don't think they've returned since, but then I haven't been to the board much in a while. I often wondered what happened to them. Anyway back to this board!

Sounds like lots of fun, enjoy! i don't think I'd be brave enough to even try anything like that and plus I'm not particularly much water confident.

White water rafting was fun (first time we did it). We went with my dad's friend and her husband and kids. It wasn't dangerous at all. Yes, people did fall out of rafts, but it was mostly due to hitting rocks in the middle of the river. It was fun. Didn't get home till about 12:45am Sunday morning ( Surpris ). Which stunk, cause we all needed to get up early the next morning to go to my aunts SUPRISE 50th birthday (I already went and it was great.)

You have NOT been on a Sydney-Los Angeles flight, guys.

Guys in the UK going to Europe, heres my advice. Take a train (it's quicker, first hand expirence) and train food is better.

Yeah and a lot more expensive, well in the UK it is. At least airline food is all inclusive. Actually I haven't disliked any of the airline food I've had, but then it all depends I guess who I've flown with. As for trains being quicker, not always the case in the region I live including the age of some of the trains and particularly a lot of the lines. I don't suppose you have as many strikes with airline staff either. And on the subject of planes Vs trains. At an airport you get to sit in the comfort of the airport, whereas in some stations particularly some of the ragety old ones you don't even have comfort or even seats or shelters.

Anyway, I'd say that bearbear's going the best way in driving. You can stop as and when you want to, go whatever way you want to, you have a better view in some places your travelling, you can have the windows open and air conditioning on, listen to what you want. Mind you it all depends on who you're travelling with also.

Driving-Cramped
Bus-Cramped
Airplanes-Dangerous (People SURVIVE train crashes)
Ship-Not THAT bad

Train-Friendly, more legroom, better food, see more, more variety of types, nice staff and sometimes STEAM TRAINS!

The XPL runs twice a day from my town to Sydney, and I think it's the best way to get from pint A to point B (Sydney).
