How much are the cheapest new DVD RW drives, and to Mike: I will bump this thread when I get one (unless the company I buy it from has over the phone service) to ask you how to install and remove drivers.

Heh. Good to know!

Hmm... well, basically you just install the drive in your computer and start using it; it's pretty much the same as installing a CD drive: connect the data cable, the power cable, and that's it.

Now, for writing data DVDs and watching movies you'll need some software that might have come with the drive. If not, you could try getting Nero (for burning CDs and DVDs, including a nice and simple DVD-authoring tool!) and Power DVD for playing movies.

I'll be very happy to help! Sourire

if you're using an IDE drive, don't forget to change the MASTER/SLAVE jumper according to your config Clin d'oeil

Well...actually, my dad hooked it up. No he can burn his DVDs and clear up some space to make his computer somewhat useful.
