What do you guys think of the Harry Potter books/ movies?

I think they're absolutely brilliant! Great to read/ watch for young, but also for older people...

There is humour and also drama in them, the plot/ storyline is great and the characters are just brilliant...
At least... that's my opinion...

I haven't read the latest one. If I remember, I'll get it when it comes out on paperback. Otherwise the first 3 were excellent, then it just got out of hand with the page numbers - Then again I'm all for getting kids to read so I suppose I shouldn't complain.

Reading is overrated.

I like the movies though. Très content On a related note, how sad is it that ITV1 are putting a Chamber of Secrets repeat on to go head-to-head with Doctor Who? Pfff

I had read the first three books the summers before the movies came out...but, I gave up on the fourth one on page like 400-something, and just saw the movie.

The way that J.K. describes certain things in the stories keeps the reader into the book. Also, what's great about these books is that they're great for ALL ages...not nessesarily targetted to kids...not targetted toward adults. The writing isn't too hard for kids, and isn't too simple and childish for adults. The suspence at the end of each chapter is great, too (although, it's like that with most books, HP is special). I'm not really a reader...as a matter of fact the HP books are the only ones that I really read for the fun of it during my teen years...

I do have opinion on the whole book/movie thing. They should have waited after all the books came out, so people could imagine all of the things and characters in each story, instead of having the first movie come out after only 3 books written. Even though that could be considered "buisness suicide" *GASP, people are going to forget about HP between these books! QUICK, make a movie! AHH!!*

Anyone who expects Daniel Radcliffe to stay on for the next two films needs a reality check. I mean, he's gonna be around 24 or 25 when the final film is made. If he does stay with it I'll be surprised. I'll also be surprised if they stop at film #7.

That makes me sound like I don't like the films, but I do actually.

You're absolutely right about that one Tom...

I've thought about that problem myself, and I think it would really be ashame if they'd need to replace Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint or Emma Watson(god, I really love her Clin d'oeil) with another actor...

I love Harry Potter! The only Harry Potter thing I didn't like was..don't hurt me...this past movie GOF. Well, ok, i liked it...but i think the book spoiled it for me. I know they had to take things out but the whole time I just sat there and grunted about them taking out stuff. I don't see why they couldn't have put another 30 minutes on it and avoid leaping to scenes too quickly. I'm glad though that they kept the Yule Ball scene pretty much intact. That was my favorite scene. I guess I'm just picking cuz it's my favorite book.

I like both Harry Potter books and movies. Harry Potter is the best selling book in the history. And the movies is also excellent in the box office.

I liked the movies but I just wish the characters did not grow up so fast..they were so adorable as children..And if I could do my own version, I would prefer that Harry and Hermione end up together as a couple.hehe
