You're forgetting we're on the same latitude of parts of Alaska Rire
We're only Temperate because of the warming sea currents from the Gulf Stream Cool

I don't know yesterday felt to me like I could've been in Alaska, apart from being minus snow. Anyway the seasons are confusing me Hum.... Cold in the summer, warm in mid winter. Don't ask about spring and autumn, I don't think the weather knows what it wants to do. The only think thats still the same are term times, although there is a debate from some education authorities whether to have the 2008 Easter school holidays at Easter or a few weeks later due to Easter being very early.

It's more to do with the internet connection...

Is it a computer Internet connection problem or a server problem? The reason I'm asking is that I'm having problems with my internet, where I can't sometimes get onto some sites or they're very slow. Sometimes I can't get online. I don't know if it's a server problem or a modem problem. Will find out when my dad phones ntl.

Calendar creep unfortunately has been a fact of life in the test-obsessed U.S. school systems for some time. There's a lot of disparity though, subject to local authorities' preference.

Sample calendar from Hawaii (pdf) http://doe.k12.hi.us/calendars0607/calendar20062007.pdf
(There is no summer school in Hawaii, due partly to there being only a six week summer break, as well as the fact that summer produces terribly hot conditions there; few of their schools are air conditioned.)

Sample calendar from California (pdf) http://www.nmusd.us/depts/calendar/calendar_2006-07.pdf
(The Newport district in California is still able to adhere somewhat to a "traditional" school year, and does offer summer school).

This idea of adjusting the school year is an item of concern for some people. http://schoolyear.info/first.html

Now it's starting to feel like summer. It's been quite hot today and the schools are back next week and I just realised it's only about six weeks or so until the finish here for summer Surpris. It seems like they were only just getting out for Christmas. It's gone sooo quickly. Not to worry soon we'll be saying it's nearly Christmas again. Just wondering has anyone started their Christmas shopping yet? Another couple of months and the shops will be starting to get Christmas stuff in Surpris.

You'd probably be surprised Pfff. Don't worry I haven't yet. I'm usually one of the last people to start. About a day or so before the day.

Er I hate shopping for others, but then I hate shopping in general. Especially during school (particularly summer) breaks.
