So my world geography class requires that I have either a foregin film or a documentry on a certain cluture. Anyone know of any good foregin films that go into detail about that culture? I would prefer a film over a documentry but if you guys know of either can you list them for me?

They have to be in the countries of the America's, Europe, or Russia

You could try the excellent Discovery Channel documentals and feature films; there are many of them available on DVD.

I have a couple in my collection that might be good for that kind of homework: for example, you could try Krakatoa, a very good feature film about the volcanic eruption of the Krakatoa volcano in 1883. Or you could try Mel Gibson's Apocalypto, about the prehispanic Mayan civilizations from Mexico and Central America. A tad crude sometimes, but quite accurate history-wise.

Hope it helps.

There's another very good animated movie I could recommend, though it is in Spanish (not sure if they dubbed or at least subtitled it to English)

The movie is "La leyenda de la Nahuala" ("The legend of the Nahuala"). It is an animated movie made in Mexico in 2007. The action occurs in a city of Mexico called Puebla in the year 1807, two years before the War of Independence. The movie portrays accurately a lot of actual buildings and scenarios in the city, as well as many Mexican traditions regarding the "Dia de Muertos", the celebration of the deceased. Lots of action and comedy here.

Here's a couple of links.
