I left AOL to get Bellsouth DSL. AOL was really dumb over the phone, when we cancelled they offered us 2 more months free, same happened with my dad. Anyone could just call back every two months to get free internet. Have they considered that somebody might do that?

This is the first high speed home internet I've had since Rachel and Phileppe (if you can remember that and were still here), it's pretty damn good! about 20 times faster than AOL, but not as fast as DSl extreme and Charter Pipeline.

Would you please not call AOL that? I'm no fan of AOL myself, but the way you called them is offensive to the gay community.

I hated AOL too! When we tried to delete it, the computer messed up.
No we're with Orange Broadband, who used to be called Freeserve then Wanadoo.

I have AOL and I agree it sucks...especially since it's dial-up. You should see the slow-ass connection speeds it tried to give me over Memorial weekend. Pleure

I have no idea if AOL broadband is any better because I'm too far out to get it. Basically, the only reason I chose AOL in the first place was because it made things easier while traveling.

I should start looking into other isp's but I don't really know where to start. Any suggestions? Tire la langue

Hihey, I think it was bad idea to switch from AOL to Bellsouth. You see, AT&T is buying up Bellsouth as soon as it is approved from the government. Likewise, AT&T service could probably be as bad or even worse than AOL.

Still, it seems my AOL is not letting play my XM and everything non-XM works. It bites since I can't play XM 80's. Feu

For anyone who doesn't know what XM is, it's a satellite radio company in the United States and Canada. Someday it could be available in Europe.

Yeah, I found that out from their website.

DSL isn't available in my area yet. So I'm stuck with AOL unless I can get decent dial-up service elsewhere. Triste

Yeah, Wanadoo bought up Freeserve in the UK. I think it was bought back by Orange though.
Oddly, Wanadoo UK were based in the Algarve in Portugal, which to me made them sound like a telemarketing company!

Orange was the name of "France Telecom" 's cell phone service. They decided to rename "Wandadoo" and "Ma ligne TV" to "Orange"... the owner is still "France Telecom" Clin d'oeil
