You know what some people do don't you apart from those who are ignorant to the laws such as those who open multiple accounts and upload many usually full episodes even though they are aware of the laws. They open an account and just click on the agreement without reading it. Now how many people take time to read agreements when they open/register for an account of whatever kind like email, forum, image/video hosting etc.? But then those ignorant ones don't even read the agreements either!

YouTube's agreement means jackshit now 'cos they went and released some users information to the police, when it says in their "agreement" they WON'T share information to third parties.

And I'm really pissed off they took down BearBear's clip.

Rebecca, that's the big problem: most people don't read the agreements, or, if they do, they don't comply with them. If more people did read the agreements, we might not have to read about problems like this.

There's some certain types of videos that would have to have 'proper authority' such as the police get involved for legal reasons.

Just to put it in perspective, let's say that you stumble upon a site that actually sells copies of the deathmatches you've worked so hard and for so long to create for your site. Of course you wouldn't like it, and the fact that this site actually profits from your work without sharing that money with you, would only add insult to injury.

As long as you don't profit from the material posted in your site, and it doesn't become a commercial site, you don't have to worry much about this whole thing.

Agreed, but it is a pain when it's a clip from a show or something from a network you have to subscribe to to even watch a television (i.e. BBC, that money grabbing greedy bunch) and the show you can't even watch again. I can see posting videos just so others can see them who never saw then the first time and will never see them otherwise perhaps because they live abroad and can't get the channel.

Can't help but agree. As long as TVL is banging on people's doors, the Beeb is a special case... is fair game, afaic.

I didn't know until I found out today on another forum that bbc have now got two of their own Youtube channels and uploading clips from some of their programs.

Now that's good news. Hopefully other networks will follow suit.

I never saw it aired on TV Triste
Stewart taped it for me.

And I don't get the new BBC thing. It's only gonna be little clips which is quite pointless. Nobody wants to watch parts of a programme.

Should I worry about my Winx AMV's on YT getting removed then? They're no more questionable than Mike's tributes...

(For the record, here are links:

What's Another Year? by Johnny Logan, starring Layla

Just You 'N' Me by Chicago, starring Bloom and Sky (grumbles about the nosebleed who thinks that the 4K version sucks))

Probably because Winx Club isn't a Nicktoon. It's Italian in origin, Nickelodeon (and thus Viacom) reworks and broadcasts it but they don't have the original rights.

But it's weird sometimes: the compilation videos I made of As Told By Ginger got removed in the big cleaning earlier this year. But they survive already a few months on someone else's account. When I started a new account and published the ATBG intro I got shut down within a week although I didn't use Nickelodeon or Nick anywhere in the description.

I solved it by uploading all my videos to veoh.com (under false names) and create a page on my website that links to them. So now you can find them through www.gingerlegacy.tk, only disadvantage is that you get nowhere the exposure you get at YouTube.
