I have a bit of a problem sharing a Windows Movie Maker video.

I want to privately show it to cartain people, so I send it in YIM and when they open the file with Movie Maker the objects on the timeline appear as red Xs and the images do not show up. I did the same thing in e-mail and got the same problem. Any suggestions?

Export the movie first, then share the resulting file. That is all.

Yep. And make sure both computers use the same version of Windows Media Player. the pic you're describing means the other computer can't read the kind of file you're sending.

If you can export the video to a standard AVI file, it would be easier to share.

Then you'll have to send all the video rushes to him as well Sourire

WMM doesn't keep the files inside the project file, it just uses link (just like any other video editing software or html pages !)

Heh, heh... Oops! My mistake. ^^

I'm not really familiar with WMM, but I guess it should have an option somewhere to export your videos to a standard format, like AVI or WMV or even MPEG. If so, this would solve the problem; just export the video before sending it over the Net.

Hope this helps.

I forgor to mention something Clin d'oeil

He'll need to place the rushes exactly where you stored yours on your PC (eg. : c:\video)

I don't know wmm a lot but maybe you can change the media location in the software too. Sourire
