From Mainframe:

Quote:
First off we'd like to say a big thanks to all our clients and collaborators who made 2007 Mainframe's best year by a distance.

The new year sees us kicking off in fine fettle too, with the hugely prestigious Nickelodeon global brand refresh getting underway. Mainframe will be working with with both the Nickelodeon UK and US teams and the new look will roll out across all 21 Nickelodeon territories towards the end of 2008.

Goodbye orange?

This might be a good thing. They don't have too many good shows right now, excluding iCarly, but I'd like to see them keep their classic orange.

Too bad. The splotches and patterns were so cool, and now the hotel and theme park areas, not to mention theme park, look outdated.

Goodbye orange?

I don't think it will be goodbye to orange, honestly...I think they just want to BRAND themselves a bit more....if you look at US's on-air promo stuff, it's pretty much all over the place - with nothing that's really "defining". There's no enviroment.

I think they want to head into the direction Cartoon Network went in 2004...COMPLETLY revamping their image and look and made it CONCRETE to the network....I don't think Nick will get rid of thier logo, though.

Looking at that small little article reminded me of the article that adressed Nick's plan to completly revamp it's look back in fall 2000. People thought the logo would be gone, but it stayed....it's just that design and look of the bumpers and promos changed to a specific style - it wasn't just an on air change, but Nick's products also had the look.

I think we MAY be saying goodbye to the "splat" logo we've had for about 5 years....I hope they do something INSANELY awesome and use shape shifting with thier logo....one splat is BORING.....

FYI, the same people who made the new SB eps in 05 promo for the UK, with the HUGE Spongebob in the sky (I believe Nick US used part of it when the SpongeBob movie premiered a couple years back aswell) is developing this new look... Can't wait to see how this unfolds...Nickelodeon on-air is in MAJOR need of overhawl.

The Nickelodeon rebrand is also getting achingly close to official unveiling, so please come back soon to take a look.

That was their last update, at the end of July, so I'd expect some news/previews to start trickling out in October!

Well, the new look just doesn't seem.... Nickelodeon enough.

It doesn't have that free-spirited feel that the 2004-2007 look had. It doesn't have the sleek feeling that those older ones had either.

Plus, as predicted, the theme park areas, hotel, and theme park now look outdated. Does Nick even think about these things?

Sidenote: TeeNick looks great. I love the current look, but I wish All That, Ned's Declassified, Unfabulous, and All Grown Up had been around to be displayed in that look. Would have looked great.

I don't see anything different. The bumpers are different (they aren't random..they are how specific)...but they've had those types on bumpers since the summer.

I don't think they are the "new look" the article was talkin about. I still think it's still coming.

Just saw this on youtube, and squee'd with enjoyment.

Hopefully this will be part of the Global Rebrand.

Apparently, the ident is from Australia.

I don't think so, we had those exact same bumpers last month but they were just adverts for the UK KCAs.

Well, it's possible we'll see them over here, since they haven't been seen here before.

I found out those slime bumers are part of the global Nick rebrand. More info can be found at the company's website inkproject.com.
